"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn
away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables."   2 Tim. 4:2-4

WE  BELIEVE:

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are fully inspired, infallible,
inerrant and the eternal Word of God. They are the complete revelation of
God to us. They are the rule and faith of our practice. Psalm 119; Proverbs
30:5; I Tim.3:16; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21; Mark 13:31; Luke 24:27 & 44.

In One Living and True God existing eternally in three persons: The Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit equal in essence, power and glory. God is in
sovereign control and governs all things with His providence and upholds
all things by the word of His power. Heb.1:1-3; 1 John 5:7; 1 Peter 1:2; Dan.
4:35.

In God, The Father, absolute Holy, omnipotent, omniscient; immutable; who
is perfect in wisdom, power who concerns Himself with His creation in the
affairs of men. He chooses sinners unto salvation.  Dan.4:35, Eph.1:4 & 11;
Heb.6:16; Isa.46:10 & 11. Heb. 11:33 – 36; Rev.19:5; 2 Thess. 2:13.

In God, The Son, Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the
Holy Spirit, lived a sinless life, preached and performed great miracles and
died on the cross as the atoning substitutionary death for His people, was
buried and resurrected on the third day and now sits on the right hand of
God which we now wait for His visible second coming for His people.  John
3:16; Matt.1:18 & 21; Luke 4:16-18; I Cor. 15;1-4; Heb.1:3; 1 Thess.4:13-18.

In God the Holy Spirit, whose primary duty is to glorify Jesus Christ. He
also will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
With great power He regenerates sinners in that when we were dead in
trespasses and sins He quickened us (made us alive) together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit
together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit indwells every
believer. John 14:17; John 16; Romans 8:9-11; Eph.2:1 & 5 & 6; 2 Thess. 2
13 & 14; 1 John 3:24.

That the Father chose us, The Son redeemed us and the Holy Spirit
regenerates and sealed us. All three persons of the Godhead bodily
participate in the salvation of sinners.

Every Person sins daily in thought, word and deed, being born a fallen
creature, dead in trespassed and sins and is totally incapable pleasing God
in their lost estate. All those that die outside the Lord Jesus Christ face
eternal conscious suffering in hell. John 8:24; Jer.17:9; Romans 3:10-12,
23; Romans 8:7-8; Heb.9:27; Matt.10:28 & 25:41; Luke 16:23.

God Commands every person to repent and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15;
Luke 13:3-5; Acts 17:30.

Salvation is only through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the
Father except by His Son. Salvation is not in anything or anyone except
Christ. There is no other name under heaven among men whereby we can
be saved. Jesus Christ is the ONLY mediator between God and man.
Salvation is only by grace through faith. We believe in Lordship salvation.
John 8:24; John 14:6; Romans 1:5 & 6, 16:25-27; Acts 2:36, 4:12, 10:36, 17:
24; Eph.2 8 &9; I Tim.2:5; Rev. 17:14.

That Biblical Preaching is the central means regarding the life and worship
in the Church and that God has ordained public preaching of the gospel as
the means in the salvation of sinners. God quickens His word to the heart
in the grace of salvation. God is of course the chief cause of regeneration
by His Holy Spirit. We preach repentance towards God and faith towards
the Lord Jesus Christ. We trust in the work of the Holy Spirit in convicting
and convincing sinners to repent and come to Christ in faith. We DO NOT
subject ourselves to any form of pragmatism or programs to entertain an
audience. We do not use any psychological methodology to beget any
forms of religious decisions. We fully trust our God to save sinners. John 3:
3-8, 16:8-11; 2 Tim.4:2; Acts 2:37- 47; Jonah 3:1-10.

The Church is a local visible congregation of baptized believers under
Christ’s Head and Rule, composed of repentant and believing sinners who
confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Church is a God
ordained institution existing for the purpose of glorifying God. It is
manifested and formulated in a local visible assembly of baptized believers
gathered together for the propagation and proclamation of the gospel. The
Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church (1) baptism,
which is by immersion and (2) the Lord’s Supper. Matthew 16:18, 18:17, 28:
19-20; Eph.1:22-23, 2:19-22, 3:21; Heb. 10:19-25.

What this boils down to is: ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TRUTH? Do you get
tired of having the Word of God being constantly mishandled and
misapplied by man? Do you get tired of having the Word of God perverted
and diluted and constantly change to accommodate and please people? Do
you get tired of having preachers speak with  great enticing words to tickle
your ears? Do you feel smothered by religious ideas and opinions of men?
Only the Bible presents the unvarnished, untarnished and unchangeable
TRUTH OF GOD!

We at Hillburn Drive Grace Baptist Church are dedicated to preaching and
teaching that TRUTH without apology or fear. In other words, we are not
interested in pleasing man, but in pleasing God. Galatians 1:10 says, “For
do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet
pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” Therefore we, “…have
renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor
handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth
commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God…For
we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your
servants for Jesus' sake.” 2 Cor.4:2 & 5. If you have this same heart and
spirit our Church cordially invites you to attend our services. We are
always excited and thankful when God sends people our way. As you can
tell we place great emphasis upon the absolute Sovereignty of our Living
and True God and upon the Person and Work of our LORD Jesus Christ and
upon the Regenerating Work of the Holy Spirit and upon the totality of the
Holy Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation. 2 Tim. 3:16 & 17, “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of
God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Therefore we endeavor to promote a balance between the sovereignty of
God and the responsibility of man, that is, between doctrine and practice.
We continue to search the Scriptures for TRUTH and are determined to
preach those truths. For we seek to declare the whole counsel of God, Acts
20:27.
